Instructions for: CURRENT PRINT SUBSCRIBERS Read these instructions carefully, then scroll down to the "4-Digit Ketchikan Daily News Subscriber Number:" box below. Current subscribers to the print edition will need your Ketchikan Daily News ID number to acquire a free online subscription. You also will need to have your telephone number registered in the Daily News office. Your subscriber ID number is found on your renewal notice. It is the first four (4) digits in the upper left-hand corner of the address label on the notice (see example below). You may contact the Daily News to obtain the number and to verify that we have your correct phone number. We must have both numbers on file for print subscribers to gain free access. After the phone number and ID numbers are entered, proceed to and select "Submit," located below the Subscriber agreement. A password will be e-mailed shortly after you register to the address you entered. Use that password to access your account. You will get the opportunity to change your password if you want to. Just fill in the boxes (or don't) and then select "Submit" again at the bottom of the Subscriber agreement. Then you should be able to log in and access the Daily News site. Instructions for: ONLINE-ONLY SUBSCRIBERS NOTE: This is an automatically renewing subscription managed by PayPal. To cancel your subscription, see "To Cancel a Subscription," below. Online-only subscribers don't need an ID or telephone number. Just proceed to and select "submit" at the bottom of the agreement. A password or "confirmation code" will be e-mailed to you in a few moments. Use that password, along with your username, to log in to your account. You will then go to this "User Registration" page where you can change your username and/or password if you want to. Just fill in the boxes (or don't) and then select "Submit" again at the bottom of the Subscriber agreement. You will then go to the "Account Management" page where you should click on the word "Edit" under "Current Packages." You'll be given a choice of a one-month, six-month or one-year subscription period. Make your choice, then click "Activate Package Changes" followed by "Purchase." You'll be directed to the PayPal Web site where you can pay through an existing or new PayPal account. (NOTE: We've noticed that credit card transactions work at near the speed of light on PayPal, as opposed to debit card payments, which may take up to several days.) When completed, you will receive access to your Daily News online account. Then you should be able to log in and access the Daily News site. TO CANCEL A SUBSCRIPTION** You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a word processor before you start. You can cancel your subscription by going to your account with PayPal. Through our site, you can get there through "Manage Your Account," then "Edit payment information." You'll need your PayPal password. You should have an E-mail record of the transaction you made with PayPal when you joined our site. If you have lost or forgot your password, there's a way for you to enter your E-mail address and insert a new password. 1. You need to get into your PayPal account and click on the "History" tab. 2. Go to the "Show" pulldown menu and select "Subscriptions." In the "From" box area, change the date back by two years. Click "Search." 3. Below that area, you'll find your list of subscriptions, including date, type, etc. Click on the "Details" link to the right of "Pioneer Printing." 4. The "Subscription Details" or "Transactions Details" page comes up, with several types of info. 5. Near the bottom there is a button labeled "Cancel Subscription." Click it. 6. This brings you to a page where you confirm cancellation by clicking again on a button labeled "Cancel Subscription." PayPal sometimes changes its procedures.
